I have no idea how it happened, but it's November already. However, I'm not complaining as we have now entered my favourite time of the year. I love nothing better than cold dark nights for some reason and I've never been one for summer fashion.
And as always, there's plenty to do in London over the next few weeks, so here are some of my suggestions.
HEARD in London. History, Eat, Art, Refresh and Discover
History
On Monday the 8th at 8pm David Walsh is giving an online talk on the Cult of Mithras. If this is something you haven't heard of, pop down to the London Mithraeum under the Bloomberg complex in the City of London - it's fascinating!
Something which also looks pretty cool is the Type, Print and Book Sale taking place on Sunday the 7th at the St Bride Library. From surplus stock, duplicate books and even printers furniture, I'm definitely going along to have a browse!
Eat
Getting back into full time working has meant little time to eat out which is a shame. I've been working during the day which means by the time I get back home I just want to pour myself a nice glass of wine and relax!
I didn't get to try any of my last month suggestions - Island Poke, Porterford Butchers, The Japanese Canteen and Assenheims. So they are going back on the list for this month.
I did however have a fantastic meal kit from Ottolenghi Test Kitchen via Dishpatch which was amazing! I also had the Vietnamese Curry Feast by Little Viet Kitchen from them recently which was really good too.
Art
The Courtauld Art Gallery finally opens its doors on the 19th and I couldn't be more excited. I managed to go a few days before it closed back in 2018 and I've missed it terribly! I'm very intrigued to see what they've done with the space too.
The Hogarth and Europe exhibition is now on at Tate Britain, and since he is one of my favourite artists I know it's going to be great.
Refresh
At Hithe + Seek wine bar! I might be a bit biased but I think this is the most exciting new wine bar to open in London ;) We open our doors today (the 3rd) so why not come for a glass of wine paired with our delicious food menu! This has been a long time coming and with views one the River Thames and Shakespeare's Globe, I hope it's going to be a success.
Discover
On Saturday the 13th it's the annual Lord Mayors Show which is also a great event with a fantastic atmosphere. This year will welcome in Alderman Vincent Keaveny as the 693rd Lord Mayor of the City of London! The parade starts around 11am and makes its way through the City.
As always, I hope you have a great month!
